Experience
I have five years of experience with Save the Children, having covered a variety of roles. Starting as an International Programmes Director and Fundraising Director and from 2020 as a Deputy CEO (acting as CEO at CEO events and MMs). I was formerly the Secretary General of United Nations Association (UNA) of Iceland and have conducted various consultancies with Save the Children, the Red Cross and UNDP.
I hold a PhD in Development Studies from the University of Iceland researching policy making in development cooperation with focus on ownership. I have 13 years of experience within academia, researching and teaching courses on: development theory; development cooperation; peace and conflict; the United Nations; and project proposals, monitoring and evaluation.
One thing to know
I love to travel and use every occasion to explore near and far with my family. I am married and have 10 children and 2 grandchildren.
